I'm a communications strategist, writer and editor. I help people plan and produce top-quality communications. My experience also includes research, commissioning, journalism and running focus groups to test ideas. I've been an independent consultant and writer since 2000, and I take a pride in doing the best job possible for every client. I'm thorough and I think things through, down to the details.
And my background?
I was communications manager for a national charity, INCLUDE, where I planned and ran strategy and communications activities for two years. I oversaw marketing, publications, press and relationships with corporate sponsors, and I set up conferences to promote new research into social exclusion. Before that I held senior editorial and management positions at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and at Liberty, and worked for local voluntary organisations in policy and communications roles.
I began my career as a writer in the private sector for an information design company, and moved into the charity sector in the 1990s.
I have postgraduate qualifications in literature and, more recently, the social sciences.
I'm a trustee of CAADA, Co-ordinated Action Against Domestic Abuse and a JP in East London, where I live.
